Hi Jackie Venson! How are you today?

I am doing great! I have been rehearsing and working all day and it’s been productive.

Please introduce yourself to our readers:

My name is Jackie Venson, I am a singer/songwriter and guitarist born and raised in Austin, TX.

What’s your new single ‘A Million Moments’ all about?

It’s about the many different experiences and events in life that leads to one finding the love of their life. Sometimes things don’t make sense in life until they do!

You’re playing at Antone’s in Austin in 16th December as part of Big Indie Big Nights – are you excited?!

I’m beyond excited. Not only has Antone’s become my Austin, TX home but I am pumped to be working with Big Indie Records, my first record label! So far they’ve put a lot of great work into this single release and I am excited to see more things uncover.

You’ve been compared to the likes of Gary Clark Jr. and St. Vincent – would you say they’re fair comparisons?

I suppose. I don’t actually sound anything like either one of them but what we all do have in common is that we have our own sound, we stay true to ourselves as artists, and we all rock a guitar.

If you could collaborate with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?

Frank Ocean, I would love that.

What are your New Year’s resolutions for 2019?

Practice more patience, respect timing and its power over all of our lives, become better at my craft.

What was it like supporting the likes of of Aloe Blacc, Curtis Harding, TV on the Radio, Gary Clark Jr and Earth Wind and Fire?

A huge honor, I very much enjoyed their performances, getting to know some of them, and sharing the stage and the audience with them. They’re all excellent artists so it really was a highlight.
