ME.I drops the quintessential feel-good party track ‘Let My Hair Down’

"I just want people to dance, smile, and have a whale of a time! To know love is to be loved & what better way to learn than by starting with loving yourself first?!"

Emerging hip-hop artist ME.I has just released her third single Let My Hair Down. This slick, sizzling track with its bold, bouncy trap-hop beat is the perfect musical remedy for those post-Christmas blues. Recorded in her linen closet, affectionately called HomeBody Studios, this quintessential feel-good party track comes complete with flashy ad-libs and old-school record scratches.

The East London-born artist began her full-time music career in 2014 and found inspiration to write her first EP while in lockdown, despite facing serious health issues at the time.

After struggling with Type 1 Diabetes during the pandemic and battling monthly infections, Let Your Hair Down was born out of the young singer’s desire to release some of these worries and enjoy living her life in the moment.

I just want people to dance, smile, and have a whale of a time! To know love is to be loved & what better way to learn than by starting with loving yourself first?!

The singer’s African, Caribbean and British roots are infused into her sound, with elements of trap and Afroswing blended with her remarkable voice to make for an irresistibly danceable track. With such a vibrant, confident aura, this rising artist is sure to keep the hot hip-hop beats coming.
