Intriguing Spanish singer-songwriter MAVICA, presents a rather personal and intense track called Ada Road.
What was the first album you bought?
“Love” by The Beatles. I actually bought it as a present for my dad but it was obviously for me
Who are some of your biggest musical inspirations and why?
Beatles have always inspired me since I get to know what music was, but my biggest inspiration now goes from FKA twigs and Bon Iver to Silvia Perez Cruz, an amazing Spanish artist.
What are some non-musical inspirations that motivate your music?
Probably cooking and pottery.
Tell us about your new single for Ada Road?
I wrote Ada Road when I was moving out from my old house, having the weird feeling of not having a place to stay and the anxiety that comes with it. That made me realise I was missing home and I needed to come back to the sea where I grew up, that’s why the video was recorded in La Manga, where I have spent the summers since I was born.
What can we expect from you in 2020?
A new EP called Send me to the Water and a lot of writing for my debut album in such circumstances.
