Matt Cleare is getting ready to drop his new Butterfly Twist! EP, and the lead single off it, 4000! is already out for people to listen to. Teo Halm, who’s worked with the likes of Beyonce, Drake and SZA, produced this track. Jochi Saca (who’s done videos for Kay Flock and Cardi B) directed the accompanying music video.

When you first listen to 4000!, it instantly grabs your attention. It’s a beautiful tale of love that doesn’t care about distance. Matt’s voice and words are remarkable, combined with guitar-based beats to really get us excited about what’s to come.

Matt Cleare was discussing his new song when he said… “This is one of those songs that came together like a force of nature. It started in Teo’s home studio in West Hollywood. I took it back to Cartersville, Georgia and dreamt to it, trying to decide how to finish the dreamy lo-fi demo it was at the time. I’d never made anything like it before. I finished it in some log cabin in Maine (that apparently used to belong to Henry David Thoreau) a few years later. In the process, it became the biggest contributing piece of DNA for what would later become my project, Butterfly Twist!. I’m so amped to finally share it with the world.”

Matt Cleare is from Miami and currently lives in Atlanta, and he’s a multi-talented artist. He writes, produces, sings, plays various instruments and is also a Muay Thai fighter.

His music merges the real and the spiritual, created from his supernatural encounters and what he sees happening in the future. Matt mixes up different sounds from past decades to come up with his own fresh sound. He combines indie-pop, R&B and rock to create a contemporary yet timeless experience.
