Luscious and engulfing, the new electronic indie-pop-by-way-of-glitch track from Matilde Davoli, SINE, is proof that her sound engineering training has not gone to waste.

Jazz, glitch, electro, and pop collide on the new track from one-of-a-kind Italian indie-pop star, Matilde Davoli. First making her way as part of avant-pop act Studiodavoli, Davoli’s name was soon being echoed all over the Italian alternative and underground scenes. It wasn’t long before she pledged to step out on her own, to make music on her own terms.

In recent years, the inspiration behind her songwriting has come in the form of travel, of different geographical locations, and of trying to find common ground whilst everything around her moved and metamorphosed. The result is SINE, and upcoming full-length HOME, both of which tackle the notion of home as a feeling, rather than a physical place – for better or worse.

The first single SINE is a gorgeous manifestation of this, calming and minimal yet bountiful in its sound. It shows off Davoli’s talents as a songwriter and producer, as well as performer. If this is the first taste of the upcoming album, then it’s sure to be something special.
