MARIE NAFFAH Shines With Debut EP GOLDEN STATE

“I found my sound making this EP. You spend your life trying to answer ‘what genre is your music’ and whilst making this record I felt liberated as a songwriter to borrow from all the genres that influenced me. Unified through my vocals, it feels rad to have made a sound that is uniquely mine. I’m not deliberately breaking the rules, I’m just doing what feels right for me.”

London-based singer-songwriter Marie Naffah has released her stunning debut EP Golden State. Inspired by a life-changing trip across America’s West Coast, the EP infuses elements of jazz, chill-hop, indie-pop, and more alongside her powerful soulful vocals, paying homage to the sights, sounds, and feelings she encountered.

Regarding the EP Marie said, “I found my sound making this EP.

Recorded with Neil Comber (Florence + The Machine, Glass Animals, Charli XCX), Matt Colton (Arctic Monkeys, Christine and the Queens) and Simon Byrt (Pixx, Charlotte OC, Babeheaven), the EP has vividly brought her journey to life and made the captivating stories within it something listeners can bathe in and experience for themselves. A glowing debut from a distinct, infectious and raw talent.
