Madelyn is an independent alt-pop artist and producer based in South London, currently releasing her debut EP and its premiere single Nowhere Quite Like Home.
Nowhere Quite Like Home is a highly listenable pop composition that skilfully demonstrates Madelyn’s fresh and current sound with its blend of dreamy vocals and polished production.
Madelyn’s vocals are natural and delicate in this dulcet, dreamy track grounded by earthy acoustic elements in euphoric harmony. Madelyn represents her experience through the medium of a dream dreamt on an August night, of catching a flight to unknown destinations, before realising the beauty in embracing familiarity. It’s a journey of attempting to escape one’s own self before finding contentment and gratitude with one’s origins and current circumstances.
During her time studying Music at Bristol University, Madelyn racked up experience in performing in various venues across the city, supporting local bands and solo projects. In 2017, during her final year, Madelyn launched her own music releases on Soundcloud, which eventually resulted in her splitting her time between London and Bristol. During this period, she collaborated with numerous esteemed producers and honed her alt-pop sound.
Having spent a few years living and creating in Birmingham, Madelyn gained recognition from BBC Introducing in the West Midlands on her single releases, and is now living in South London creating new music with producer Rob Salute. Madelyn’s music has already made the rounds on several notable playlists and music publications as well as airtime on local radio and she has performed a number of gigs in London since this move, including The Cavendish Arms and a sold-out Show at The Bedford.
With her authentic and refined style and evocative storytelling, Madelyn is poised to continue captivating audiences and carving out a compelling space in the alt-pop landscape.
