After captivating audiences on his sold-out UK/EU tour, Mackenzy Mackay gifts fans with his latest EP, Life, Love & Upsets. Pull up a stool, and the singer-songwriter will confide in you through his music – a testament to the dark alleys and mountaintop highs he’s faced, set to a soundtrack of six gut-wrenching tracks.

With a storytelling style that’s both authentic and evocative, Mackay’s EP vividly captures the push-and-pull of life’s tribulations, echoed in hits like Bruised One, Don’t Quit Trying, and Cold Stare. With Every Last Detail, we get a glimpse into Mackay’s sentimental side, while Cold Stare reveals a toughened exterior.

In a candid reflection on the EP’s theme, Mackenzy shares, “Life, love and upsets encompasses the whole human experience. Going through the mix of emotions, the ups and downs of life. Those days of feeling broken, the days of feeling great, days of feeling in love, every chapter of feelings we experience throughout our time in this world”, he explained. “It’s about life, everyday life we all live, everyone’s life is different but we’re all not too dissimilar. It’s about love. I have a huge heart and I like to write about my love and my experience of being in love with someone. It’s about upsets, the things that hurt us in life, loss of our loved ones, not getting to say goodbye properly, heartbreaks etc…It’s my past 12 months in 6 songs”.

With upcoming performances at Reading & Leeds Festival and Frequency, Mackenzy Mackay’s rise to global acclaim is undeniable. His name is on everyone’s lips in the music industry, thanks to glowing endorsements from BBC Radio 1 and Ticketmaster – a clearest indication that this newcomer is here to stay.
