Producer and up-and-coming talent Lodge returns with his latest EP Happy Medium, closing 2020 with a bang and bringing in an exciting new year for the rising star.
Lodge, real name Garrett Lodge, is no stranger to releasing music, working as a producer for multiple new artists such as Tate Tucker and Sirah. Completely created by himself, including mixing, mastering and vocals, this EP mixes house, pop and hip-hop. With minimalist and slick beats, the tracks are funny, energetic and fresh.
“It’s all about finding a balance in life,” explains Lodge, it’s about “having fun responsibly.” Though his sound is reminiscent of artists such as Daft Punk, the closest artist to him at the moment is probably Lil Dicky. Like the latter, Lodge’s wit and humour pervades the whole EP, meshing with the light production and bouncing percussion perfectly. 2020 was a release-filled year for Lodge, dropping a debut EP in July Lodge House, Vol I, followed by Happy Medium, with even a track release on Christmas, Believe It. For a self-run operation all his releases, especially his most recent EP, are extremely well produced and stylish. And this, along with his charm and humour, make Lodge one to look out for in 2021.
