Italian open ensemble Llargo released their new single Clouds with vocal features from The Cinematic Orchestra’s Heidi Vogel. The track represents the multitude of influence from the ensemble, creating a sound rich in acoustic twang, with folk elements and electronic beats running through.
Clouds is a growing song, creating a powerful and atmospheric soundscape that progressively builds to keep the listener captivated throughout. Llargo is led by Italian songwriter, guitarist and producer Christian De Cicco, who brings his inspiration from Bon Iver, The Cinematic Orchestra and Massive Attack which can be recognised in the ambient and dreamy facets of Clouds.
When discussing the ensemble’s new track, Christian said: “I wrote Clouds with Heidi’s voice in my mind. I’m a huge fan of the tone of her voice and I thought she would have been perfect for this song as her voice would blend really well with all the other instruments. We then met and recorded her vocals in London. What a magic experience!”
The song was recorded in London and Milan, alongside musicians Ivan Segreto (synths, arrangement, programming), Lele Garro (double bass), and Evita Polidoro (acoustic drums), all contributing to a fascinating and crafted piece of music. Llargo construct a fantastic sense of uniqueness and collaboration to their tracks, and with their growing listenership and recognisable quirks, their new track is definitely worth getting lost in.
