Boston punk trio Linnea’s Garden return with Stop Codon, a fast-moving single built on sharp riffs, dance-ready momentum, and confrontational lyricism.
Lead vocalist and founder Linnea Herzog frames the song around the idea of cutting through performative crisis culture and reclaiming personal agency.
I felt fed up with people who are always in crisis mode to get attention. ‘Stop Codon’ is like an off switch for your DNA. ‘Stop Codon’ is a metaphor for cutting off bad habits, toxic thought patterns, and exercising free will. Only you can release your own personal weight of the world.

Musically, the track emerged quickly during a late-night session after the band’s bassist introduced the core riff.
My bass player threw me a killer riff and the song came together in one late-night jam session.
Formed in 2020, Linnea’s Garden have built momentum through constant touring, four releases, and growing international airplay.

Earlier projects include the debut EP Nowhere Friday Nights, the album Fashion Show released on Red on Red Records, and the follow-up record Mirrors, each expanding the band’s balance between punchy pop hooks and punk urgency.
Stop Codon signals the opening phase of the band’s next release cycle, with a Boston launch show followed by a Southwest U.S. tour and appearances during SXSW week in Austin. A new EP, Get Heard, is scheduled to follow.
Operating through a queer femme perspective, Linnea’s Garden continue to position their music as high-energy punk built to disrupt expectations while keeping the dancefloor moving.
