St. Louis singer-songwriter Lindsey Wood looks ahead on Someday Love, a song about the life she and her husband hope to share when there is room to slow down.

Inspired by a river cabin her parents built in the Ozarks, the single imagines trading possessions and packed schedules for long mornings together. Wood keeps that dream grounded in the present: mortgages, children and everyday responsibilities still stand between here and “someday”.

The forward-looking song offers a change of perspective from much of Wood’s writing, which has drawn on memory and difficult experiences.

After recording her DIY debut Introduction to the Obvious following high school, she studied business at Indiana University and built a corporate career. A breast cancer diagnosis at thirty later inspired Moves. She returned to songwriting and performing in her early forties.

Wood’s project Roots & Revival traces the people and places which shaped her. Someday Love gives that story a destination: a cabin, an unhurried cup of coffee and time with the person next to her.
