LHĒON Stuns Her Fans With New Video For I HATE THE WAY THAT I LOVE YOU

“I knew I wanted to use more symbolism in this video, similar to what we did with "stranger". Because of the song's conflicting theme, I wanted to show before/after elements. The dancer, Jaala, acts as a metaphor and encapsulation of the light and shade in a problematic, on and off relationship - staying with someone that you know is not good for you.”

Back after the success of her last release, Full Disclosure Pt. I, Australia-based neo-soul artist LHĒON has unveiled her remarkable music video for the new track I Hate The Way That I Love You .

Bringing in funk influences and steeped in sensational imagery and sensual artistic flares, the sophisticated music video for I Hate The Way That I Love You is an extraordinary visual tale featuring LHĒON herself along with her talented companion Jaala Jenses: “I knew I wanted to use more symbolism in this video, similar to what we did with “stranger”. Because of the song’s conflicting theme, I wanted to show before/after elements. The dancer, Jaala, acts as a metaphor and encapsulation of the light and shade in a problematic, on and off relationship – staying with someone that you know is not good for you.”

Talking us through the music video LHĒON shared: “She starts out dancing around in the empty house, and towards the end drowning in the broken tape from torn up memories of a less complicated time. The shot of me covered in rope, chains and an anchor attached to my feet continue to drive the metaphor of feeling tied down and helpless. Gary Robertson at Jarrah Films absolutely nailed the job in capturing the essence of the song and my vision. It’s been such a pleasure working with him on all my music videos to date.”
