Brixton-born, self-proclaimed ‘geezer’ Lewca has just last month released his debut album, Friday Night Rockstar. He describes the body of work as ‘’the swan song of a forty-something Geezer running headfirst into a midlife crisis on the fumes of his turbulent youth.’’

With a melting pot of influences ranging from A$AP Rocky to Bob Dylan, Lewca has been pursuing his solo music career since 2018, after being a member of several bands that eventually all broke up ‘’for the usual reasons’’. These days, after teaming up with S.O.A.P., a Parisian drum & bass DJ & beatmaker, Lewca seems to have found his groove.

With his tongue-in-cheek lyrics set to an eclectic buzz of drum & bass, and gruff, husky vocals, reminiscent of classic rock bands like The Clash and supported by thundering guitar and drums, Lewca’s music is certainly memorable, and his wickedly funny personality takes up a huge amount of space in what he does.

Friday Night Rockstar would undeniably be an ideal setlist for an unforgettable live music experience, and Lewca says that gigs are what it’s really all about for him, S.O.A.P. and their music. Despite the many setbacks that Covid gladly provided the guys with, they have assured us that their focus is firmly on ‘’gigs, gigs and more gigs…expect bruises, beer & pierced eardrums in the near future.’’

Check out Friday Night Rockstar on streaming platforms today, and keep an eye out for any announcements of upcoming gigs for Lewca and S.O.A.P. – you’re sure to be in for a night to remember.
