Leo Napier, the soulful sensation from the heart of America, is captivating audiences once again with his latest work, The Philly Gritz EP. Born into a blend of British heritage and nurtured within the vibrant rhythms of Los Angeles, Leo’s music is infused with a lush mix of classic pop, soul, and R&B.

Leo’s musical path has been shaped by the guiding hand of his father, the esteemed Hugo Napier. Reflecting on those formative years, Leo fondly acknowledges, “My musical journey began with my father,” a testament to the profound influence that shaped his artistry. Leo Napier, a beacon of musical ingenuity, draws inspiration from legends like Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin.

Amidst anticipation for the EP, Leo’s journey took a turn as he battled a life-threatening heart infection, but swift action by his father, Hugo, led to a miraculous recovery. Supported by the unwavering love of friends, family, and fans, Leo Napier emerged from a six-month convalescence stronger than ever.

Napier reveals: “One of the first things that hit me upon regaining consciousness after the coma was that, had I died, I would have taken all of this music to the grave with me. I have hundreds of finished songs that have never been heard. I’ve dedicated my life to this craft and these songs, which are the fragments that comprise the mosaic that is my soul and identity. Then for some reason, when it came  time to release them, I would hesitate, procrastinate, become distracted by the next project, and move on. I must have thought I was immortal. I refuse to let this happen again. From now on, every song I’ve written is going back to the people I wrote them for, and you know who you are! These songs are for you, as much as they are for me.”

Leo’s ascent in the music industry reached new heights when he graced the national stage on the acclaimed TV show, The Voice. Despite setbacks in the inaugural season, Leo’s unwavering determination propelled him to a triumphant return in season two, etching an indelible mark on his musical odyssey.

Celebrated for his versatility, Leo Napier’s collaborative ventures with EDM luminaries such as DJ Gramatik and GRiZ catapulted him into the electronic music stratosphere. Hits like Faraway, A Fine Way to Die, and Native Son featuring Raekwon soared to chart-topping success, showcasing Leo’s seamless fusion of genres.

Now, with The Philly Gritz EP, Leo Napier unveils a melodic tapestry woven with threads of classic pop, soul, and R&B. Each track meticulously crafted, the EP bears testament to Leo’s unwavering dedication to his craft, a testament made all the more poignant by the challenges he’s faced.

Collaborating with talents like Adam Stehr and Miles Napier, Leo poured his soul into every note of The Philly Gritz EP, crafting a body of work that transcends mere music. For Leo, this EP marks not only a musical milestone but a testament to his resilience and unwavering commitment to his art.
