LEENA VOXX Shares MY HAIR: “a story about bullying”

By Moni Bell

Singer-songwriter Leena Voxx, based in London, is back with her captivating new single My Hair.

Leena Voxx takes us on a delightful journey with her shimmering melodies and engaging electronic-inspired vocals performance. Framed by pop melodies and upbeat synth patterns, My Hair is a sublime electro-pop track.

“This all happened more than 10 years ago and at the time I did not really think it was bullying. In my early teens I was already tall, about a head taller than pupils my age, including the boys. I became an easy target to poke fun of and I always wondered why people didn’t like me. What’s so wrong with me?” Leena Voxx describes her earlier experiences, “I was constantly excluded from things and it was difficult. It used to upset me all the time and I went through emotions such as insecurity, anger, frustration and I used to cry about it. I called the song My Hair because girls at school used to pick on me about my hair all the time.”

After a two year hiatus and rebranding herself as Leena Voxx, having previously gone by the name Leena Ojala, she has spent her time focusing on honing her craft and developing her talent into the unique soundscape featured in My Hair.

Leena Voxx has showcased yet again with My Hair why she is a rising talent worthy of the recognition.
