LADYHAWKE Gets Remix Treatment from K.FLAY, SHURA And WOODES

By JJ Disco

Indie Rocker Ladyhawke has teamed up with other stars K.Flay, Shura, and Woodes, in order to bring forward the new EP, reMIXED EMOTIONS, a collection of remixes of the New Zealander’s latest single.

The collection opens with K.Flay’s fuzzy distortion-filled guitars that bring her remix more in a rock and roll direction, while still keeping Ladyhawke’s powerful vocals and 80s synth influences from the original, incorporating them with a more electronic bassline sound. A collaboration of talented female singers and producers, K.Flay herself is just off the back of the release of Inside Voices, her own personal EP.

Ladyhawke explains how the original track Mixed Emotions “was written with old mates Jono Sloan and Nick Littlemore (of billion streaming PNAU) while I was on a writing trip in LA. The song is about all the things you can feel with one person, sometimes all in a single day. Ups and downs, confusion, highs, and lows. And everything in between!”

This new selection of remixed tracks should act as the perfect stepping stone to Ladyhawke’s October album release of Time Flies, where we’ll be able to see more original indie and synth-pop tracks from the artist just before her headline tour of Australia and New Zealand.
