Triple J House Party and Skrillex-approved, Sydney-based truly multi-talented female artist KLP – Kristy Lee Peters – presents her new track, ‘Changes’ . A smart feel-good number, hued with classic garage vibes…”This girl’s got rock’n’roll, sex, sass – says Skrillex – everything you need! She’s killing it! She’s amazing.”.
So…How are you KLP?
Great thank you ☺
Whats on your mind right now?
I was sitting here figuring out if I was in the right frame of mind to start recording some vocals for a track I need to finish. I’m still not sure if I’m good to go so chatting to you is great in the meantime.
Can you tell us everything we should know about ‘Changes?
I think everyone can relate to the idea of change being a constant in our lives. I love being in control but sometimes it’s just not possible, this song was my way of trying to be ok with that.
Which animal would best suit your personality?
Arghh I have no idea! Some type of animal that finds it hard to sit still.
What was the first album you purchased?
I really struggle to remember clearly because music so heavily surrounded me in my life as a kid. Possibly a Kylie Minogue record.
Which artists are you listening to right now?
I like listening to chilled out stuff when I’m not trying to find music to play in my sets. I’ve totally thrashed listening to the Solange record. Oh and the other day I discovered Temples because it was being played at a thrift store in Tokyo I was wondering through.
How would you describe your street style?
Jeans, sneakers, t shirt. Super easy.
Do you still get nervous before going on stage?
Very rarely these days. It’s like everything, the more you do it the more comfortable you feel.
The best thing about being on a tour is…
Having solo time to chill – this is also at times the worst!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Still making music, singing stories and drinking way too much red wine.
