"This song was a learning experience for me, showing me that good things do take time and it can come to you when you least expect it, often at the most random moments."

Scottish songwriter Kirsty Grant returns and continues her 2022 momentum with the powerful and emotive new single ‘Quick Fix’. A stripped-back piece of pop that brings her songwriting to the front-row, with a simple pop production that showcases her vulnerable side. It’s a track that explores the feelings post-breakup, contemplating who’s at fault and where the blame lies.

Speaking on the experience of writing the track, Kirsty explains: “’Quick Fix’ was a track written and recorded over zoom in my bedroom last year. It was a funny session, as I left it feeling deeply insecure and doubting if I could even write songs anymore. During the session, my co-writers and I had managed to finalise the first verse and pre-chorus, but couldn’t quite settle on a chorus we were happy with. Having finished the zoom session with no chorus, I was hard on myself and couldn’t imagine the song was going to go anywhere”, she says.

“A few days later, when watching TV, I was suddenly inspired to write, it’s funny how it happens so randomly sometimes. I grabbed my mic and played the empty chorus bars of the track, and within a few minutes the whole melody and lyrics were finished. This song was a learning experience for me, showing me that good things do take time and it can come to you when you least expect it, often at the most random moments.”
