Norwegian power-pop trio KEiiNO hark back to more desirable circumstances on their latest nostalgia trip, Summer of My Life. An anthem just in time for the right season, the latest single sees the 2019 Eurovision contestants channeling their happiest memories.
Remembering a summertime from two years ago, Summer of My Life is just as monumental and powerful as the rest of the KEiiNO catalogue, with the wave of heavy hitting beats and synths beneath the bands combined effort on vocals. Missing simpler times when they could hug and dance with each other, the group hope that this latest track will be the soundtrack to this years’ time under the sunshine.
“Hopefully we are able to have live concerts in front of big crowds again very, very soon. Until then we are excited to play the smaller and intimate shows” says Fred Buljo, who wrote the song along with fellow band members Alexandra Rotan and Tom Hugo, with help from Alexander Olsson. “As kids and teenagers have had a longer portion of their lives affected by lockdowns, our mantra is ‘young people first’ and the concerts will be open for all ages.”
Having risen to fame after reaching 6th place at Eurovision 2019, and placing 2nd in the qualifications for Norway this year, KEiiNO are fan favourites whose popularity is well deserved. With previous singles Spirit in The Sky and Monument reaching over 35 million and 6 million streams respectively, the trio can’t wait for their 15-date tour in their home country later this year.
