Kartis Qatar return with an acoustic reinterpretation of Rasgueo, stripping the original rock ballad into something slower, stranger, and more atmospheric.
The new version pulls from nights spent moving through Mexico City rock bars under the influence of absinthe. That backstory gives the track its frame: hallucination, confusion, surrender, and the blurry space where reality starts acting suspicious. Very normal evening, clearly.
Recorded at Studio 1974 in Mexico City in a candlelit session, the arrangement keeps the palette tight: Moog synthesiser, drum machine, electric guitar, Peruvian cajón, grand piano, and voice.
Rasgueo works as a full reset, not just an unplugged take. Kartis Qatar rewire it into something more intimate, disorienting, and harder to pin down.
Formed in 2015, Kartis Qatar have built their identity around rock, experimentation, visual concept, and genre movement rather than staying locked into one lane. Their second album Mextinción also reached wider audiences through placements in HBO+ Mexican series Bunker.
With Queens Of The Stone Age, Radiohead, and Nine Inch Nails in the bloodstream, Kartis Qatar keep Rasgueo tense, textured, and slightly unstable; exactly where it should be.
