Norwegian singer-songwriter K-Syran is back with a brand new album, Inappropriate, a record the artist says she ‘’has worked so hard on!’’. Her efforts are clear, and the hard work has certainly paid off. This album is a triumphant tour de force for the multi-talented powerhouse of an artist, who always keeps us guessing and never disappoints.
K-Syran is an artist that could be described as a woman who wears many hats, as we have seen her venture into a range of genres, from dance-pop to house, and collaborate with artists such as Blue and the Sugababes. Never afraid to experiment, K-Syran has switched it up this time with Inappropriate, which features a much softer, more vulnerable side to this dynamic artist. With a real focus on her soothing yet powerful vocals and tender lyrical exploration of some of her experiences with love and relationships, this album is K-Syran as we have never seen her before.
In keeping with her trademark dance-pop style, the songs on the album are full of rousing synths, booming bass, and picture-perfect production, demonstrating the seamless sophistication of this seasoned performer. There are certainly some stand-out tracks on this record – Hudson River, a reworked dance-pop single which has been polished and perfected, and She, a jazzy track that sparkles with theatricality and shows off K-Syran‘s brand-new style.
