Melbourne-based band Junior Bones are back with some captivating folk jams – check out the new single Dust. Drawing on influences like psych-rock, indie-pop, post-punk, folk and new wave, Junior Bones create beautiful and emotive songs, the sound is layered and dreamy.

The band states: Dust is an old grizzled cowboy on top of a meandering horse who wanders listlessly from the high plains to the ocean. Dipping his feet in the water he is rebirthed, transforming into a coral ecosystem, gently surging back and forth with the changing tides”

Band’s songwriter Ryan Temby (vocals, guitar) music has an uplifting and memorable quality to it, combining vivid imagery with strong storytelling.

The origins of the band can be traced back to when Temby got dissatisfied from his corporate life and left it behind. He decided he wanted to restart his musical career after a trip along the west coast. He got deep into meditating, this allowed him to reconnect with his guitar, which he had put away for years.

Temby’s first contact when he landed on home soil was to long-time friend Paul Inglis. They had been musical soulmates from the time when they could both be found playing together with Australian band Prettymess.

When the band was being named they wanted one that had sentimental value. They ended up naming their after the rescue dog, Temby’s, since he already had a great name and all of the good ones were taken.
