Jessie J kick started the Christmas season by wowing shoppers with an explosive performance and admitting it has always been a dream to switch on the world famous Oxford Street lights.
The Pop Princess, was wearing a pair of bright red tailored trouser with a sheer long-sleeved black top and black and gold ankle strap sandals, when she posed for photographers on the red carpet alongside James Arthur and Conor Maynard and she performed her massive track ‘Price Tag’, this time wearing a black halterneck dress with transparent skirt.Jessie J said: “I did it! I performed on a stage really high up! I faced my fear! Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who came out and sang with me and made it less scary!”
She added : “I always used to make my parents bring me to Oxford Street to see the Christmas lights so it’s an honour to actually be switching them on this year. I spend a lot of time shopping on Oxford Street and this year will be no different. The lights switch-on is a prestigious part of the festive season for Londoners and I’m proud to be a part of it. ”
Illuminating the world’s most iconic high street with a new £1.5 million light scheme, and lighting up the entire Selfridges building in spectacular style, Jessie J performed in front of thousands of excited shoppers and flicked the switch on the brand new Christmas lights display along the world’s most iconic high street.
Remarkable circus theatrics made the event truly memorable, with eclectic performers Gifford’s Circus giving a real twist to the evening’s celebration. A breath-taking lights display lit up the iconic Selfridges building, celebrating its ‘Destination Christmas’ campaign.
The Oxford Street Christmas lights switch-on marks the official start of the festive season on in the West End, which historically takes over one billion pounds in sales during the Christmas shopping season.
