Nashville Indie Artist Jah Frida recently shared visuals to go with his latest single Catching On/Catching Up. Frida’s refreshing signature sound blends musical influences from Indie, RnB, Hip-Hop and Psychedelic influences.

Sung from the perspective of someone trying to reach out to a friend or family member who has fallen out of touch and mentions his attempts to make contact to ‘catch up’ but it never quite working out. The subject matter takes inspiration from Jah’s personal experience with a family member struggling with mental illness.

The song’s feel-good sound conceals the song’s narrative, much like how mental illness can often go under the radar, masked by a “good vibes only” attitude in society.
