J Balvin and contemporary artist Gal Yosef have joined forces on Galy × J Balvin, a limited-edition collectible blending music, visual art, character design and authentication technology.
Created through Yosef’s entertainment IP company Populart, the collaboration reimagines its original character Galy through Balvin’s colourful creative identity and Yosef’s hyperrealistic artistic style.
From our first conversation, it was clear this would be more than two names on one collectible. We share an instinct for vivid colour, emotional detail, and the small human moments that stay with you. Only 100 pieces will be produced worldwide, each priced at $2,500 and supplied with an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed by both Balvin and Yosef.
Gal is an incredible artist, and I connected with his work from the first time I saw it. It’s exciting to see our styles come together and turn Galy into something completely new. The 26cm PVC and vinyl collectible includes an NFC authentication chip. Waitlist access opens August 11, followed by the public sale on August 13, with shipping expected in late 2026 or early 2027.
For Populart, the release is also a test of a wider entertainment model built around original characters that can move across collectibles, animation, consumer products, storytelling and global collaborations.
For FM PRO TECH, the bigger signal is how artist partnerships are evolving beyond endorsements and conventional merchandise.
Galy × J Balvin combines creative identity, scarce physical product, direct-to-fan commerce, authentication technology and original character IP inside one release.
It is less a merch drop than a compact entertainment franchise experiment—only with a considerably more expensive entry ticket.
