It’s A Melancholy Xmas for When Airy Met Fairy

We have to admit we have a soft spot for a nice Christmas song at FM towers. And proving that not all Christmas songs have to be full of jingle bells, Nordic duo When Airy Met Fairy have just released this beautiful new festive track – Blanket of Sorrow. It’s understated, melancholy, and quite sad actually, but as the band explains, sometimes Christmas can be one of the loneliest times of the year! sob.

When Airy Met Fairy: “Christmas is about spending time with family and loved ones, a time to congregate and reconnect with the special people in our lives. But despite its warm and unifying nature, it can make someone’s absence only more apparent. Blanket Of Sorrow captures that sinking feeling of longing and sadness… the festive season has never felt so lonely.”

Keep your eyes out for the band’s new album, due some time next year.
