Meet Joel Alexanderson, a music enthusiast hailing from Colorado and Nebraska. He’s always had an intense passion for music. His musical journey started off with a bang by joining the highly acclaimed 2019 Colorado All State Mixed Choir.

He’s got this incredible talent for captivating crowds with his one-of-a-kind mix of alternative tunes, delivered in Farsi, Spanish, and English. He creates soundscapes which, “evoke powerful emotions and leave a lasting impact, even for those who may not understand or translate the lyrics.

Following the release of his single Impossible in June 2023, Joel Alexanderson is back with another heartfelt song called Just Give Me Peace. It’s a smooth and chill track that leaves a thought-provoking impact on anyone who listens to it.

The lyrics of the song are all about Alexanderson feeling super overwhelmed, even with a million things going on. It’s like none of them are really helping him stay grounded.

Alexanderson‘s love life is like a wild rollercoaster ride. He’s caught up in this crazy ‘love hate relationship’ with romance that completely engulfs him.

It’s a mix of excitement and overwhelm. At times, it can feel freeing, but Joel found out that in the end, it really had an impact on his emotional health. It really messed with his head and made him deal with some heavy mental health issues.

He used that beautiful and moving song to get the message out: “it speaks to those who suffer in silence and help remedy their pain or confusion and distress they may be feeling!

Just Give Me Peace is the soundtrack that is the ultimate companion for anyone facing heartbreak and pain. It’s like having a personal guide to help you navigate those tough emotions.

“I find the most rewarding thing about being a musician is the impact that I am making in a desolate and dangerous world.”

Tell us everything we should know about your new track ‘Just Give Me Peace’

The song originally was supposed to be trilingual, including a Spanish verse that never quite came to fruition. This piece is an ode to the confusion I always feel when I’m in love and how at times, it can be so overwhelming I don’t know where to turn and begin to see the world as static. I want the listener to feel, regardless of the language barrier, the push and pull I try to incorporate within my music.

What’s the idea behind it?

I often feel an imminent confusion and anxiety surrounding love that feels like I have to escape. So, I often shut down and lose all ability to think or function.

Describe your music in 5 words

Reflective, contemplative, zen, relaxing, choral.

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

I find the most rewarding thing about being a musician is the impact that I am making in a desolate and dangerous world. If I am able to touch just one person with my music, I feel as though I am fulfilling my purpose as a musician.

How would you describe your perfect day?

My perfect day would be spent on a beach in Bermuda, spending time with family and friends, playing music, and then going out to eat at a fresh seafood restaurant.

What would your fans say they appreciate the most about you?

I don’t want to speak for my fans, but I think that the thing they may appreciate most is that my music makes them feel emotions, more specifically the anxiety and sadness that my music brings forward, which can be a difficult emotion to deal with, but far more worth it to process in the long term.

If you had the power to make any change in the music industry, what would it be?

I would like mainstream music that is a little more mellow and help the music industry thrive on music that has more contemplative lyrics than what a lot of the popular songs today are showing. I want my music to be like poetry!

If you could blink your eyes and be in a favorite place right now, where would that place be?

I would be singing with my partner on the beach with a virgin margarita in my hand and parrots flying overhead.

What’s your secret musical guilty pleasure?

I love Ariana Grande with a passion.

What exciting things are in store for us?

I should be having my first EP/album out within the next year, as well as three singles in the works!
