Meet Inki, aka Ingibjörg Friðriksdóttir from Iceland. Her capacity to combine experimental electronic music, engaging storytelling, and contemporary classical compositions is remarkable.
The intriguing Icelandic artist presents us with a glimpse of her new brilliant avant-pop sound in her dreamy single This One For Me.
The song beautifully balances delicate vulnerability and empowering strength. The essence of both aspects is captured in perfect harmony, creating a truly powerful and emotional experience.
This mesmerizing tune is full of intricate textures that will transport you to a world of nostalgic charm, with its otherworldly vibe.
Inki reveals how This One For Me came to life by delving deeply into a personal experience that truly struck a chord at home: “My friend was going through a breakup, and I decided to uplift her spirits with a joyride. Unfortunately, my questionable music choices dampened the mood. That drive became the catalyst for my latest release, ‘This One For Me’.”
The first taste of her new album, Thoughts Midsentence will be the single For You, a perfect lead-up to the full release of This One For Me.
These songs blend together with beautiful melodies and are supported by an amazing organ backdrop, giving you an extraordinary musical experience. The album’s overall magic is enhanced by these tracks, which serve as the third and fourth singles.

Inki is a badass artist who fearlessly transitions from classical to avant-pop music. She’s all about pushing boundaries and creating a unique sonic experience that breaks the rules.
Notable endeavors include mixing up some fresh house beats with the forgotten stories of a closed-down prison (Brotabrot) and Iceland’s WWII slut-shaming. Then, she got talented female artists to perform her compositions and turned it into an awesome album and bookwork that even includes augmented reality elements (called Quite the Situation).
Using samples of keys and clocks, she created a cool beat with a lot of bass. This beat was the perfect complement for an inmate’s story about life on death row while recording for a podcast with just 60 seconds left. The San Quentin Mixtape, the first record released from prison, was a result of her involvement, and it was such a great experience.
Inki is stepping into the world of avant-pop music with her new project Thoughts Midsentence. This album is a total experiment with a cool mix of sounds, her killer vocals, and an intense vibe. It’s got this dark and moody atmosphere that you won’t find anywhere else.
Inki‘s music is all about keeping it real, being creative with strategy, and working hard.
