Indie-pop duo Mystic Waxx shares their third single from the upcoming EP “Bleach” and answers some QuickFire Questions to go with it. The single features an edgy, foreboding electronic sound punctuated with retro bass and electric guitars. Meanwhile, a delicately compelling vocal delivery outlines a toxic relationship from the perspective of a bewildered woman having been manipulated by a possessive partner. Check it out below:

Who is Mystic Waxx and how did you form?

Mystic Waxx was born when Andrea Skalec answered an ad in the local newspaper to audition for a singing audition. Composer and music producer Bekham Hyka was looking for a female vocalist to join him on a music project much inspired by the likes of Portishead and Pink Floyd.

Do you usually start with lyrics or the music when writing a song?
We normally start with composing the music and then add lyrics halfway. Although sometimes the lyrics are not added even until the music production starts, it’s about finding the right moment to combine the two, there isn’t a script to follow in particular.

If you had to describe your sound in three words what would they be?
