What was the first album you bought?
I was given Rumours by Fleetwood mac when I was 9 or 10 and that started my love of Stevie Nicks , but the first album I brought for myself was ‘American Idiot’ by Greenday. They were also one of the first live gigs I went too!
Who are some of your biggest musical inspirations and why?
I am a huge fan of Stevie Nicks, she is such a magical performer and that voice is iconic. I also loved Eva Cassidy, she had this purity that made everything she sang her own.
What are some non-musical inspirations that motivate your music?
My name ‘I Am Boleyn’ is inspired by Anne Boleyn, the Tudor queen, I love Tudor history. She was such a strong, unusual, female figure in a male dominated world. I think the way that women’s stories have been written very one sided, I feel it is important that we reclaim our narrative now.
Tell us about your new single for Little Longer?‘
Little Longer is about not wanting a moment to end. Those precious few hours you have with someone before the spell breaks and you have to go back to real life.
What can we expect from you in 2020?
I am releasing an EP on the 12th of June. I am so excited to share it! I also have some gigs planned in London over the summer.
