With the West Midlands’ precedent for classic rock greats such as Black Sabbath and Judas Priest, it seems about time that we’re offered another riotous group from the area. Cue HVMM, Worcester’s own unapologetic blues-rockers. Following their ferocious last single ‘Lacerate’, the band are back to blast your eardrums and shake your souls with latest offering ‘Going Postal’.
Oozing a distinct swagger and the raw, seething vocal harmonies of Andy Teece and Ebony Clay, it’s propelled by a raucous, angst-driven power reminiscent of the likes of The Dead Weather.
As thrashing riffs race alongside Teece’s gritty growl and hard-hitting beats, a dark, tense energy builds, sucking you into Hvmm’s eerie, hypnotic power, and resulting in a victorious, crashing climax.
‘Talk To Me Like I’m Dead’, the debut EP from HVMM, is out 1 September via ILA.
