How To Engage With Your Clients In The Online World

With face-to-face engagements a little less common for now – it’s important that you still find ways to engage with your clients in the online world.  Here we have listed some ways you can still keep in touch to build long-lasting relationships.

Regular Social Media Posting

It’s critical that you keep your social media channels up to date.  First of all, it let’s customers know that you are still operating, or if there are any changes to your operations – but also it creates a community feel that will allow them to engage.  You can use social media tools such as polls to get their feedback on certain things, or you could even do live Q&A sessions on products or services.  Hosting competitions and giveaways is also a good way to engage your clients via social media.  If you want to show of the personality of the company and let people get to know the faces behind the brand, this is the correct medium to do it on.  Social media is constantly evolving so it’s important to keep up to date with digital marketing trends in order to be able to engage.

Send out Email Blasts

Email marketing should be an integral part of your communications plans.  Make sure you keep your clients informed about what’s going on with the company via email.  Everyone has smartphones these days, and quite often push notifications setup when an email lands in an inbox which gives you the perfect channel to communicate.  You can do things like monthly roundups of company events, announcements of new product or service releases, and more.  There are some great software solutions out there that will even allow you to send a free email blast – so it’s also a cost-effective option.  It also gives you an opportunity to test out different types of content using analytics to determine which emails have been the most popular.  

Host your Own Virtual Event

Why not keep connected by hosting your own fun networking event?  You could invite all of your clients and have an online party.  As well as you continuing to engage with your clients – it could also be a great way to introduce them to other contacts that could be of use to them that they would appreciate. You can incorporate a theme – and even give them a takeaway such as a digital caricature that they can have as a memento.  Get creative with your event invites to generate interest.

Send them a Thoughtful Gift

It has been a bit of a strange year for everyone, so it would be nice to make the extra effort for your clients so they feel valued by sending them a gift to let them know you are thinking of them.  It doesn’t have to be something that costs a lot of money, it can just be a token.  There are lots of small businesses creating hand-made gifts that you could look at.  Wellness boxes have also become increasingly popular and a nice touch.  By doing this, they know that you are thinking of them.  

Host Webinars

Webinars are a great way to connect with your clients.  First of all, they add more value than other types of content. It gives your audience/clients the opportunity to interact with you and ask questions on that particular topic matter.  They also will position you as a thought leader which means they are more likely to come back to you and appreciate your expertise.  It can be particularly beneficial if you are an international business as people can watch from all over the world. Of course, there is the added bonus that you can sell without really having to sell too hard – the content of the webinar should speak for itself.  As they are one-off events that happen live, you can trust that your audience will be engaged.  

Invite them to Guest Speak on a Podcast

Podcasts are becoming increasingly popular these days and are easier than you think to get started.  This can give you another avenue to reach your clients as they can listen to your musings via Spotify etc.  As well as hosting the podcasts and creating great content for that, you can also invite your clients to guest speak. Maybe they specialise in a certain topic that could be of value to your clients – or maybe they have something important to say that you think your listeners want to hear.  Get your name out there and on the podcast charts.
