Global sensation Leona Lewis first time in UK and Ireland

leona lewis1Hot off the heels of Leona’s first ever concert performance at London’s Hackney Empire, Britain’s most successful female musical export has announced an Arena tour for next summer including a date at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on 1 July. Tickets go on sale Friday 20 November at 9am.

Speaking about touring Leona said: “I can’t wait to get out on tour and see everyone, I’m really looking forward to putting on a great show. I had such a fun night at my recent show at the Hackney Empire and it’s given me a real taste for it.

Over the last few years I’ve had some amazing experiences and sung in some really interesting places but it’s going to be great to be able to perform all my own material on my very own tour. It’s a dream come true.”
leona lewis4Earlier this month Leona gave fans an exclusive glimpse of what they might expect next summer when she performed at a special fan-only concert at the Hackney Empire and they were not disappointed! Neither were the press; The Sun reported, ‘A sterling debut from a blistering Brit talent. Bring on the arenas.’ The Daily Mail wrote, ‘Leona hit all the right notes, as a taster for a full UK tour, it was a triumph,’ and The Independent commented, ‘Within moments she’s captivated the crowd with that killer falsetto… it’s Leona’s endearing ascent to fame that’s made her one of the biggest-selling artists around the globe.’
leona lewis3Next year’s arena tour promises to be mega! As well as the biggest and most breathtaking voice in music, concert goers can expect stunning state of the art staging and visual effects as well as choreography and an incredible live band. Leona will play songs from her smash hit debut album Spirit (such as Bleeding Love, Better In Time and Run) as well as tracks from her forthcoming new studio album Echo, including the brand new single Happy which got it’s UK TV debut on last weekends X Factor and achieved record viewing figures.
leona lewis2No stranger to performing live, Leona has given countless performances around the world at some of the most prestigious events on the planet, including Nelson Mandela’s 90th Birthday Concert at Hyde Park and representing Great Britain last year at the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics alongside Jimmy Paige and David Beckham. To date though, Leona is yet to tour live, which will make this tour another landmark occasion for the East London girl who leapt to fame in 2006 and has not looked back since.

Leona releases her brand new album Echo on November 16th. It is the highly anticipated follow-up to Leona’s 2007 debut album Spirit, which took the world by storm, selling over six million copies globally. Along the way Leona earned herself countless award nominations and became the UK’s biggest selling debut artist of 2007 and 2008. Echo promises big emotions, sweeping and widescreen melodies and spine tingling vocals. The album sees Leona teaming up with A-list writers and producers John Shanks, Max Martin and Ryan Tedder.
