Rising singer-songwriter Georgie Moon enchants again with her latest single, 2017. This track blends acoustic singer-songwriter elements with rich jazz influences, building on the impressive momentum she established with her initial performances in Brighton.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Amy Winehouse, Joy Crookes, Olivia Dean, Pip Millett, and Cleo Sol, Georgie’s journey in music has deep roots. Named after the classic Ray Charles tune Georgia On My Mind, she has been influenced since childhood by the soulful sounds of Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Gladys Knight, and The Pips. Georgie’s dedication to her craft led her to study musical theatre throughout school and college.

Her latest track, 2017, delves into the nostalgia of teenage years and young love. It’s set against a cozy backdrop of finger-picked guitar, steady bass, and soft drums. Moon’s smooth and effortlessly graceful voice delivers a moving tribute to her younger self and her hometown, culminating in an emotive, slower-paced finale enriched with strings and harp.

Speaking about her track, Georgie says, “2017 is a song about teen hood nostalgia and young love, it’s all those feelings of  love and loss wrapped up in a cosy blanket. The song is a love letter to my younger self and the town I grew up in – I have very fond memories and 2017 really encapsulated those. I wrote this track in 2020 looking back on one of my first ever relationships. It feels really special that I’ve got to make this track and video with all the close friends I’ve made in my early 20s.”
