NORTHERN Ireland football fans have been voting George Best the Player of the Century in a special online poll.
The Professional Footballersâ€™ Association is celebrating its centenary by giving soccer fanatics the chance to vote for and select the Greatest Team of All Time and the Player of the Century.
Manchester United striker and Northern Ireland International George Best, who died in 2005, is topping the poll along with fellow Man United player Bobby Charlton and West Hamâ€™s Bobby Moore.
According to the PFA website, givemefootball.com , The Player of the Century is a player who has the skills and finesse to set him above the rest.
The site has been inundated with votes for the Belfast football legend as well as modern players including Thierry Henry and Wayne Rooney.
Voting closes on August 23, 2007.
