Enchanting and exciting soul-pop artist Gabriela Eva, shares her Top 5 Influences Playlist . ‘HEY!’ is her stunning new single.
She reveals: “I wrote HEY! in my mums living room sitting on a snug rug by the fire in Colchester…I always write easily at home. The chord progression came first, I’ve been writing on my electric guitar for a few years now and
love the process. It’s one of those songs that just feels so good to play live and is easy to relate too. I took it to Riverfish Music and Joe and I brought it to life. I’m glad to have a sick bass line of his on there. Working with Joe in the studio is a dream, you can see the sea from the studio and breath in the fresh air…Joe did an alternative mix, which is just pure vibes and inspired by Frankie Knuckles, I can’t wait to see people dancing to it.”
Here’s Gabriela Eva’s, Top 5 Influences Playlist
Unknown Mortal Orchestra – ‘Hunnybee’
“Unknown Mortal Orchestra recently stole my heart. I fell in love with their production and music.”
Taylor Mcferrin – “The Antidote’ (ft. Nai Palm)
“Taylor Mcferrin and Nai Palm are two faves of mine. Nai Palm changed my life, it was the first time I felt understood musically. When one hears a piece of music and your like…yeah they get me!”
Nina Simone – ‘Baltimore’
“Nina was my baby food in my young years. She told me to be bold, experiment and be unapologetic!”
Bonobo – ‘Kong’
“When I found Bonobo, it was a time in my life when I had found peace. I was a Hula-Hoop dancer and would jam to his music for ages. It’s so hard to choose a song of his and this is to the hoopers ;)”
Lianne la Havas – ‘Green and Gold’
“Lianne is my Heroine”
