Let’s face it, 2020 has been an absolute shambles so far and it shows no signs of letting up, so why don’t we enjoy some awesome new music instead and forgot all about it!

Mark Lanegan has teamed up with brooding dark-wavers IYEARA who have remixed his entire album Another Knock At The Door and it definitely deserves your attention.

Throughout the album, IYEARA have managed to mischievously reconstruct and reimagine Lanegan’s already impressive collection of tracks in order to create a sound that is undeniably hypnotic and oozing with sonically alluring twists and turns.

Previous single Playing Nero particularly deserves your attention, as it combines synth-laden beats with industrial and experimental soundscapes, creating a sound akin to the likes of Depeche Mode as a result.

As the album plays out, Mark’s seductive, gravel-like vocal still takes centre stage – despite the ambient reworking – proving this collaboration was clearly extremely thought out, with each artist respecting each other’s work wholeheartedly. We’re all over it.

Comprised of The Duke Spirit guitarist Toby Butler, producer Malcolm Carson and vocalist Paul O’Keeffe, IYEARA announced themselves in 2019 through the release of  CONSEQUENCES EP; a record including a cover of ‘Shout’ by Tears for Fears featuring The Duke Spirit’s Liela Moss. The group have remixed the likes of Laura Marling’s LUMP project, UNKLE, Humanist ft Dave Gahan, The Prodigy, The Boxer Rebellion, Simon Raymonde’s Lost Horizons,  Paris Youth Foundation, The Ting Tings, JoyCut and Lusts.

Another Knock At The Door (IYEARA remixes) is out now.
