FM Recommends: AISHA BADRU’s THE WAY BACK HOME

Blending together both earthy and folky soundscapes to shape a song that’s outlined by Badru as the “heart” of the new EP, the track reminisces back to a younger Aisha where she vowed to move away and leave home in search for something greater.

Next up in our recommendations is this lovely new track from US singer Aisha Badru. The Way Back Home is the title track from her upcoming EP out later this year.

Blending together both earthy and folky soundscapes to shape a song that’s outlined by Badru as the “heart” of the new EP, the track reminisces back to a younger Aisha where she vowed to move away and leave home in search for something greater. It’s a very gentle track and Aisha has a very soothing tone to her voice, the kind that captivates you from the first note. Lovely stuff.

Also, Aisha is hugely passionate about environmentalism, and is teaming up with her label, Nettwerk Records to plant trees with every pre-save of the EP via a donation to the non-profit, One Tree Planted, which we like a lot.

Whilst new to us, her music has already gained over 100M+ streams online and she’s had lots of press acclaim with a growing fanbase across Europe. You can now include us in that! Looking forward to hearing the EP.

The single The Way Back Home is out now, taken from the EP of the same name, out December 3.
