Broken boy are an indie-rock three piece that are ready to make some serious noise this year. With their latest single ‘Just To Leave You’ about to drop at the end of this month (April 27th), we are excited to see what’s in store for these boys.

‘Just To Leave You’ is everything you want from an indie-rock trio; The anthemic track starts with pounding drum beats and punchy guitar riffs before descending into a more mellow verse, where lead vocalist Cam Black’s distinctive tone really shines through. Fans of The Strokes and Franz Ferdinand will notice welcoming similarities when it comes to Broken boy, with their melodic pop beats and classic indie guitar vibes that you won’t be able to get out of your head – in a good way.

Hailing from Scotland, Broken Boy began in 2013 when brothers Stewart (lead guitar) and Cam (lead vocals) began writing together. They had initially planned to expand their sound into an Arcade Fire style six-piece band, but they then decided their sound was more suited to a stripped back three-piece indie vibe. As a result, the brothers joined forces with drummer Fraser Laing in 2015 and the rest, as they say, is history.

Broken Boy have already had the chance to perform with the likes of Catfish and The Bottlemen and Circa Waves so, it’s safe to say, this trio clearly have a lot more to give and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for them in the future. If we had to hedge bets, we’d say huge festival crowds and massive amps.

‘Just To Leave You’ is out on April 27th 2015 via Canvas Records.
