2020…2020 is a year of more watershed moments, upheaval, change, unity, division, fear, re-alignment of priorities and challenges of every norm, all happening inwarp speed. Microcosm time capsules to live into eternity in our digital world of the pandemic can be seen in the arts. From artists playing to seas of people backed by equipment and stage effects that make Broadway feel small, to intimate performances with an acoustic guitar on a couch with a pet walking through the foreground.
Los Angeles artist Brian Stanley also of duo indie electro group The Years, has embarked on a new project in The Mad Ones. In the midst of releasing his new art during unprecedented timesIn a song with a visual and lyrical aesthetic dubbed pandemic pop.
Brian says he wrote that song feeling cooped up in early April and wanted to express that. “You know I don’t have any place to go, so tonight I’ll be your echo” …The last thing any of need is another reminder of Covid-19, we are painfully aware; however we can commensurate which has always been something achieved so well in song, and this is the bop to escape with if only for 3 minutes.
