In the realm of electro-pop, where melodies dance on shimmering synths and rhythms ripple like waves in the Mediterranean, one name stands out: Kid Francescoli. Known for his international hit Moon, the French musician Mathieu Hocine, the creative force behind Kid Francescoli, has now unveiled a collection of musical gems that will leave you fascinated – Sunset Blue.

This enchanting album boasts 11 elegant tunes, each a unique sonic experience. From the sunbathed French Touch vibes of Run Run and 1986 to the romantic chillwave of Corsica, from the uplifting synthpop of You Are Everywhere and Like Magic to the soulful electronic grooves of Casino Soul, and the cinematic disco of Solaris to the cosmic R&B of Sweet and Sour and Take TimeSunset Blue is a sonic tapestry that spans genres and emotions.

Kid Francescoli‘s pursuit of musical excellence led him to collaborate with a five-star cast of talent. The album was masterfully produced by French79, mixed by Stan Neff (known for his work with Polo & Pan, Kungs, and Christine and the Queens), and finally polished to perfection by Alex Gopher (of Daft Punk and The Blaze fame). The result is a harmonious blend of organic and electronic elements, a musical bridge that connects the timeless Ennio Morricone with the cutting-edge sounds of modern electronic music.

Kid Francescoli‘s music is a reflection of his diverse origins and experiences. Born in Marseille with Algerian heritage, his music weaves together the rich tapestry of Mediterranean cultures. He fondly recalls his childhood in Corsica, vacations in Barcelona and Rome, and performances in Morocco, Greece, Turkey, and Egypt. For him, the Mediterranean region represents a shared multiculturalism that brings people together and inspires his music.

“I love my city: it’s the perfect place to feel good with sun, sea, family, friendships, love…It gets me emotional, bringing tears with a smile” says Kid Francescoli. “This shared multiculturalism is really comforting, it has its own poetry and strength, bringing uniqueness and empathy to the people. It is essential for me. I love my city: it’s the perfect place to feel good with sun, sea, family, friendships, love…It gets me emotional, bringing tears with a smile.”

His ambition is clear: to create vivid imagery with his music and transport listeners into a cinematic world. Sunset Blue accomplishes just that, painting pictures in our minds and whisking us away to a dreamlike state.

Sunset Blue‘s crystal-clear production and personal yet universal themes make it an ecstatic soundtrack for those golden moments when time stands still.

“I see myself as a melodist,” Kid Francescoli explains. “I would like my music to feel like velvet. There’s something cinematic, classy about it, and yet comforting. It’s very simple, popular, and synonymous with love and passion.”

In honor of the sea and the concept of “saudade,” the album might be named “Sunset Blue,” but its true colors are the warm hues of “yellow-orange-red” – a nod to the sun that bathes the Mediterranean in its golden light.

Kid Francescoli‘s Sunset Blue is  a musical revelation, an invitation to escape, and a journey through sun-kissed soundscapes that you won’t want to end.

“My ambition is to create pictures in people’s heads with music, to transport them instantly into a movie.” reveals Francescoli – “Music has this magical power to broaden your vision of the world. It’s fascinating because, like dreams, it’s the kind of irrational things science can’t explain and that makes life exciting.”
