After releasing Ruling Days, Phil Ireland is now going to show us a more tender side of one of the ballads from the album. He wrote You Are The Sun during the lockdown in response to the loss of his grandparents:

“I wrote this song – says Ireland – during the 2020 lockdown to help me with my grief of losing two of my grandparents and a third who passed away in isolation. I did what I always do in hard times & put my pen to paper and wrote ‘You Are The Sun’.”

The Slow acoustic melodies offer a powerful emotional listening experience, allowing you to sense and relate to the emotions represented in the song.

He adds: “I feel this fully acoustic version has grown past its original intention of being about coping with grief, it’s ultimately about love.”
