Hailing from Dallas, Texas, and now carving her path in the vibrant music scene of Los Angeles, is the pop-rock virtuoso Ash Smith, better known by her enigmatic pseudonym, Miss Machina.

Prepare to be immersed in sonic brilliance as Miss Machina unveils her new brand single, Talk. Drawing inspiration from the disco dazzle of the 70s, the synth-pop allure of the 80s, and the grunge rock vibes of the 90s, this musical concoction is a testament to Miss Machina‘s dynamic talent as a songstress. The genre-blending artistry on display elevates the production, resulting in a sound that exhilarates, fuelled by the nostalgic musical tapestry of her youth.

The sonic tapestry of Talk weaves together electric guitars, synthesizers, programmed percussion, and an array of instruments to craft a hauntingly nostalgic atmosphere. The genesis of the song traces back to a moment of inspiration during a viewing of the film ‘Scream,’ where Miss Machina found resonance in the theme of an obsessive killer—a sentiment that mirrored the complexities of her own breakup. The song captures the tension of a relationship unable to reach closure, as Miss Machina candidly reflects on her inability to sever ties completely during that tumultuous time.

In her own words, Miss Machina sheds light on the emotional core of Talk, stating: “There aren’t really sides in a breakup, we just want someone to take the blame and be the villain.”

As Miss Machina navigates the intricacies of heartbreak, her artistic evolution takes center stage. With each note and lyric, she demonstrates not only her effortless talents but also her personal growth within the music industry.

Completing her degree at SMU in Dallas with honors, she emerged with a degree in Journalism and a minor in voice and songwriting. Choosing the path of an independent musician, she relocated to the bustling city of Los Angeles, where she currently devotes her efforts to crafting her debut pop album.

In addition to her musical pursuits, Miss Machina extends her creative footprint as a co-writer and collaborator with fellow independent artists.
