British-born, LA-based multi-faceted artist, singer, and songwriter Louis Knight premieres his atmospheric and heartfelt single Never Enough today as he prepares to release his EP Twenty, Twenty-Two on December 7.
For his latest offering, the 2019 American Idol finalist delivers an elegant, raw sound, lush melodies combined with his charismatic voice, sleek synths and organic percussion come together to create a truly intriguing experience. Knight’s vocal and lyrical approach are deeply inspired by the genre’s biggest names, including Jon Bellion, Lewis Capaldi, Sam Fender and Ed Sheeran, and his songs speak to the universality of longing for hope & perseverance.
Never Enough is an ideal follow-up track to his debut single entitled Change, the fruit of a close collaboration with Matt Weber and legendary Grammy award-winning mix engineer Michael Brauer.
Never Enough is lifted from Louis’ upcoming EP Twenty, Twenty-Two, a 5 track expression of Louis’ life journey in the last two years.
Knight revealed: “It’s about feeling you’re never enough for someone. I think a lot of people can fall into feeling this way in an imbalanced relationship. I moved across the country to LA with my ex-girlfriend. Living together started to cause many cracks in our relationship and one day in an argument, she said no matter what she did, it never felt like enough for me. I also never felt enough in the relationship. I wrote that line down on my phone immediately and took it to my writing session the next day. As soon as I touched the piano, I instantly sang the line “it’s never enough for you” and we knew that was the hook!”
He added: “‘Twenty, Twenty-Two’ is the highest high: a jump start in my career (coming off of national television), falling in love – and then the moments where hope feels hard to find: falling into a pandemic, dealing with depression, severe anxiety, and relationships falling apart. 2022 is the year I would have graduated from college and I’ve always told myself that I would have some sort of footing in the music industry by then. I really hope that that is the case with this new chapter of stories.”
