DIVVAS are a duo – Corinne Nora & Dave Eleanor – who make brooding introspective music in the lineage of Portishead, Massive Attack circa Mezzanine or James Blake before he found the love of his life and decided to move away to California. In other words, they like their sound unsettling, unresolved and hella poetic. Their compositions combine elements extracted from UK Bass with improvisational Jazz approaches, think Hyperdub meets International Anthem. And they do it well!
Their seven song EP titled Challenger Deep will drop on BlauBlau Records / Slow Dance later on in June. We are honoured to offer you an appetiser from said release, the snarling video to their first single called Koac. It’s the perfect entry point into the DIVVAS universe. It’s sort of like Jeff Parker meets Portishead 2020 as a molotov cocktail of chin-deep melancholy and church.
