We tipped this hot Berlin artist a few weeks back when he released his single, Plz Don’t Go and now he’s released his debut EP we thought it would be a good opportunity to have a quick chat with him.  The new EP Suite Bittersweet is out now via Made Jour Label and it’s worth a listen – especially the big pop track City Life – a great soundtrack for the weekend!

So, what’s up Kean? What’s on your mind?

Hey, thank you for having me. Right now Summer is on my mind: going out with my friends, hopefully getting to travel somewhere soon…just trying to gain new experiences.

Tell us about your new EP, Suite Bittersweet :

Suite Bittersweet is my debut EP inspired by the nightlife here in Berlin, the city I come from. I wanted to give these four songs their own space to live in, which is Suite Bittersweet. Hotel rooms have something bittersweet about them, they look nice, but are temporary. I feel like the EP’s themes, the temporal aspect of excitement and thrill pertaining to new relationships, translate well into a hotel room environment. The songs are fun, but also melancholic. Overall the EP is a reflection of what I experience in Berlin.

When did you start writing music?

I have memories of writing songs when I was like seven, but I got serious about making music around the age of sixteen.

Which animal would best suit your personality?

I just took an online test and it says I’m a hummingbird.

Who are your musical icons?

I am my own icon.

What was the first album you purchased?

I cannot remember, but I think it was Get Rich or Die Tryin by 50 Cent.

Which artists are you listening to right now?

Salem, Dwele, and Crystal Castles.

How would you describe your fashion style?

Effortless.

Finally, what does the rest of 2021 hold for you?

A lot of writing and hopefully getting back on stage!
