Finnegan Tui shares his brand new single ‘Spring’

“'Spring' is about questioning whether a good time will return in your life. Written in winter when I found it hard to believe that the skeleton trees that surrounded me could somehow blossom into vibrant life again."

New-Zealand-born, London-based singer-songwriter Finnegan Tui releases his latest single ‘Spring’

Multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer, Finnegan Tui releases his brand new single ‘Spring’ through AWAL. A previous student of Jazz and Electronic Music at the Guildhall School of Music, Finnegan’s latest record ‘Spring’ is a track about a hopeful tale of an artist, longing for better times. Written in winter, Finnegen describes the season as “a time when it is hard to believe that the trees may bloom again.”

‘Spring’ sees Finnegan bare his soul in this hauntingly beautiful electronica ballad. Opening with the natural soundscape of spring, on this single, Finnegan lays down delicate strings that culminate with monumental synths, emphasizing his bellowing vocal tone. Still at the young age of 21, Finnegan is at the midway point of recording and producing his debut album ‘Zephyr’. His recent tracks have been co-produced alongside Matt Lawrence (Mumford and Sons and Bjork) and Charlie Andrew (Alt-J and Johnny Flynn). He has also worked with Niv Adiri (Gravity and Batman Begins) to incorporate intricate sound design into his recordings.

When asked about his new single, Finnegan described that “’Spring’ is about questioning whether a good time will return in your life. Written in winter when I found it hard to believe that the skeleton trees that surrounded me could somehow blossom into vibrant life again. The song is also about time and the cycles, seasons and inevitably of life.”
