Emma Ogier draws inspiration from Joni Mitchell’s Coyote on Keep You, filtering its restless romantic energy through a contemporary blend of country, alternative pop and intimate storytelling.
Ogier writes from inside desire’s uncertainty, using glances, half-truths and unspoken expectations to create something closer to an overheard conversation than a direct confession.
The single continues a productive 2026 for the Houston-raised artist, following Believing, Baby Don’t Hurt Me and Rocksteady/HeavyMetal. She is currently developing her debut album, expanding a sound that connects classic songwriting instincts with a more fluid indie-pop framework.

Ogier’s growing live profile has also placed her alongside Dominic Fike and Bright Eyes. She recently joined Fike onstage in Oregon for Small Town, while a subsequent video titled This Is Emma Ogier featured her performing Baby Don’t Hurt Me. Earlier in the summer, she appeared during Bright Eyes’ anniversary shows for I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning and Digital Ash in a Digital Urn.
She will next support Whitney across selected North American dates before appearing at Austin City Limits Music Festival and joining Hovvdy for the first leg of their tour. Further Bright Eyes appearances are scheduled at Brooklyn Paramount in January 2027.
With Keep You, Ogier avoids the easy payoff. The tension remains unresolved and that emotional loose end is precisely what keeps the track moving.
