Turkish / British electronic duo Yolcu , give us a taste of their…anatolian-inflected art-pop and indie-electronica soundscape, with this aptly lush video for A Hunter and the Prey, which is lifted from their forthcoming EP In Stream,

Who are some of your biggest musical inspirations and why?
Although there are many musical inspirations for us, I think we would have to go with Thom Yorke and Björk for their complete musicianship and artistry in this age. Each step they take always sustains their story and creates another unique inspiration for the world’s music and art scene.
What are some non-musical inspirations that motivate your music?
Our time spent together, especially when we isolate ourselves; trekking, camping, discussing, listening deeply to the soundscapes around us.
Tell us about your new single for ’A Hunter and the Prey’?
When we wrote A Hunter and the Prey, we were sharing lots of inspirations from nature between us. The rhythmic ‘hats’ at the start of the track gave the impression of birds flapping their wings, and their speed suggested they were fleeing. Given that the production in this track is completely electronic, a theme of escaping an industrialised world emerged, how people’s feelings and desires, and in time their ambitions and passions, become those of their industry and employers. A slow, harmful, systemising effect settling in them, becoming their world. This song is about being within that, and the process of being consumed.
What can we expect from you for the rest of the year?
Another single next month followed by our three-track EP the month after that!
